About Step Medical Solutions
A medical supply and healthcare group built in Iraq, for Iraqi hospitals.
Step Medical Solutions started in Baghdad in 2014 supplying orthopaedic implants. The problem then is the problem now: a surgeon can plan a case perfectly, but the implant still has to be in the country, in the right size, on the right day.
So we built the company around stock. Four branches hold inventory and staff. Sub-stocks in other governorates shorten the last leg to hospitals outside the main cities. Sales engineers attend cases, and the warehouse tracks lot numbers and expiry dates rather than trusting a spreadsheet.
The rest of the group grew out of what customers asked for next — training on the implants we supply, software to run the clinic, consultants to set up the department, and eventually a clinical facility of our own.
How we work
Stock in country
Inventory sits in four branches before it is ordered, so theatre schedules don't wait on customs clearance.
Trained hands
A new implant is only useful once surgeons are trained on it. Supply and instruction run together, not separately.
Documented supply
Lot numbers, expiry dates and delivery records are tracked per item — the paperwork a hospital needs when it audits its own theatre.
